Ordering seeds and planting other ones...

This morning, we discussed garden planning with Stephen and Carlen and ordered our seeds.  We are putting together a wonderful kitchen garden for our house.  I'm in charge of cucumbers and sweet potatoes.  I choose a pickling cucumber because our fields will be producing a lot of slicing cucumbers.  The sweet potatoes, I am asking that we order slips (no, not little flimsy under-dresses, this is what a tiny sweet potato plant is called) from an organic provider in Iowa where we will have two varieties that do better in Northern climates and vine well.  I look forward to designing and building trellis for both of these crops.

Our afternoon group returned to the hoop house to seed the bed we preapred yesterday and pull the rest of the carrots.  AS we entered, a cat leaped up to the roof we so carefully cleared of snow yesterday.  Check out Sophia's quick broom skills!

Carlen helped us to set up the Earthway Seeder and we planted 6 kinds of greens--argula, mizuma, wrinkle crinkle cress, black forest lettuce, beet greens and a mustard green?
