Farms and Fields

This morning, half of group B worked to reorganize and tidy up the basement.  We accomplished this:

In the afternoon, we discussed the grass plant and how it grows and reacts to grazing.  As Olivier described the different factions of grazing ideologists and practitioners, it sounds like we're not really "feeding animals" so much as managing a commodity--sun-fed grass.   Knowing one's grasses and legumes and forbs, watching their growth rate and having the animals graze JUST before the plants produce their flowers is the essence of this game.  If the grasses produce flowers, then the growth is done for the year and there is not much more to feed your livestock.
