Flexible planning!

Today an ice storm blew around us and prevented our scheduled teacher--Chad, the mechanic--from reaching us.  Luckily the Sentinel Elm staff were on hand to help out.

Josh, updating us on lambing
Josh gave us some more details about our lambing procedure, our shearing lesson this week and a hand-out on hoof-clipping.  We still have a few weeks before the lambing begins, but I think we'll all happy to have specifics so we'll be prepared.  The big picture is that we observe and help out if the ewe is in trouble or the lamb is struggling.

The Story of Sap
Reid was also available to show us the maple syrup works.  Explaining some of the tree structures and dynamics in his inimitable way, we were soon laughing and then out the door to see a tapped tree and start the sap a-boiling!

Kiyoshi brought out his newest creation:  The felted Pedal.  Clutch was impressed!
