An "out of the ordinary" day with Groundworks Lawrence Green Team

Farm School and Groundworks Lawrence gathering.
The Farm School folk teamed up with Groundworks Lawrence "Green Team" kids to build structures for their community garden.  (http://www.groundworklawrence.org/youth).  The different projects included an arbor, a gathering bench, beehives and tool shed.  I enjoyed building beehive boxes with a few of the Green Teamers.  These high school people work to build community and raise awareness for environmental and social issues.

Here are a few photos of the beehive work in progress.

Later in the day, I snapped a photo of Sophia and Emily working the brick cutter.  They were working on the bread oven.  My camera was accidentally set on "manual" and the colors washed out.  Thought it was interesting, so here it is!  Also took this shot of the beehives with a similar effect.
